Building (Mechanical)
The City of Canon City is accepting applications for the position of Building (Mechanical)
Inspector for the Building Department. The main purpose of this full-time position is to perform building inspections and related duties to ensure compliance with established building codes and regulations for the City of Canon City.
This position will perform building and mechanical inspections of commercial and residential buildings at various phases of completion to ensure that methods, materials, and location of structures comply with building codes. Successful candidates will possess, at a minimum, a High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years' experience in building inspection, construction industry or related field. Applicants must possess a current Colorado Driver's License. International Code Council Building and Mechanical Inspector Certification within 18 months of hire, with passing the IRC-Building and IRC-Mechanical within 6 months if not already certified, and the IBC and the IMC/IFGC Certification within 18 months.
Pre-employment drug screening, driving test and background check are part of our screening process. The salary starts at $38,796 plus participation in City benefits according to policy.
