Director of Psychiatry Services
The CSU Health Network at Colorado State University is recruiting for a Director of Psychiatry Services.
The Director of Psychiatry Services has administrative responsibility for the management of Psychiatry Services and provides leadership, direction, and clinical supervision in accordance with departmental, organizational, and University goals and objectives.
This position provides patient care; supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care; develops and implements programmatic plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations; develops and administers comprehensive programs that responds to patient demographic needs; supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to Psychiatry Services; and effectively utilizes employee resources and time responsibilities for the department.
There is opportunity for additional salary if you have completed fellowships and are board certified in applicable psychiatry subspecialties, for example, Addiction Psychiatry.
This position reports to the Executive Director of the CSU Health Network and serves as a member of the Leadership Team, which is responsible for strategic planning, assessment, accreditation, and other large scope initiatives.

Required Job Qualifications
- Possession of a current, Colorado physician license; or possession of a current, temporary Colorado physician license and ability to obtain permanent Colorado physician license within 90 days of hire
- Board certification in psychiatry
- A valid, current, unrestricted DEA number
- Five years of clinical experience working as a full-time Psychiatrist
- Two years of Leadership experience, Clinical Supervision, and General Supervision of staff
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience
- Six plus years of clinical experience working as a full-time Psychiatrist
- Experience working as a psychiatrist on a college campus
- Experience and comfort with electronic medical records and computer use
- Knowledge of principles and methods of healthcare for the college age population including diagnosis and treatment of mental/emotional disturbances, modern methods and principles of psychiatry, general medicine and neurology, and skill in their application
- Knowledge of community resources in patient management
- Excellent clinical skills in psychiatry
- Advanced Leadership and Team Management Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience and ability in developing and maintaining exceptional rapport with and empathetic care of students at times of stress, pressure, and variable patient volume
- Ability to develop and maintain exceptional rapport with medical and counseling staff in a multidisciplinary healthcare delivery setting
- Ability to deliver efficient and quality psychiatric care in times of increased patient volume related to variable patient use of the facility
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with policies of the CSU Health Network, Colorado State University, state, federal and HIPAA requirements
- Interest in the wellness of students and their family members and respect for the role of patients in the decision-making process
- Ability to assess demand for services and determine appropriate strategy to meet demand
- Commitment to and experience working effectively with historically marginalized populations, cultures, and diverse communities
- Ability to analyze policies, programs, and initiatives to make recommendations for quality improvement
