Chesterfield County's Information Systems Technology Department is seeking an Enterprise Application Specialist to be responsible for maintenance, administration and support of a variety of applications, recording and documenting of all revisions and upgrades. Perform server patching and monitoring. Provide technical support to business leads and office personnel. Consult with software vendors on resolution of problems. Create shared documentation, instructions for recurring issues that can be handled without vendor support. Coordinate system upgrades with multiple internal and external resources. Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of hotfixes, upgrades, and patches. Confer with vendors, technical staff, and end users to define functional requirements for upgrades. Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures and data storage to ensure against loss of data and minimal interruption of usage during equipment failure. Work towards implementing Disaster Recovery process and procedures for county applications. Incumbent is required to serve on an on-call rotation.

This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications and experience. Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or three to five years of experience in the development, maintenance and support of integrated web based and client/server applications; or a combination of training and experience. Knowledge of Windows Server OS, VMs, SQL, LAN/WAN networks, and batch job monitoring. Must have exemplary troubleshooting skills and be able to perform accurately in high stress situations. Must be flexible, adaptable to change and able to work with multiple workgroups. Candidate must have experience in project and data management. Prior experience in Disaster Recovery Planning is a plus. Must be a team player, adaptable to issues and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
