Employment and Training Program Coordinator
This recruitment is being conducted to fill two full time Employment and Training Program Coordinator positions in the Human Services Department. This employment list may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, or extra-help (temporary) positions as they occur during the active status of the list. The Human Services Department (HSD) is seeking two talented individuals to join their Employment and Training Unit as Employment and Training Program Coordinators. Employment and Training Program Coordinators provide technical assistance, staff training, and program facilitation, as well as act as liaisons with community based organizations and program partners within their assigned program component(s) or related areas. Although provision of direct services is not the primary function of these positions, Program Coordinators may provide direct counseling services to clients and/or carry a reduced and specialized caseload. Incumbents may also assist managers in the development, modification, implementation, and evaluation of project or component policies, procedures, operation, and strategies.
Position #1 – Contracts and WIOA Programs
This Employment & Training (E&T) Program Coordinator position will be responsible for the development and monitoring of all training contracts related to the WIOA and other E&T-funded programs. This includes On-the-Job Training, Incumbent Worker Training, as well as outside contracts with other providers for group trainings. This position will also work with a variety of individual businesses, CBOs, and other public agencies for Temporary Work Experience, as well as Internship placement contracts. The position will assist with the development of policies and procedures, must work well independently, and also build and maintain effective relationships with diverse partners across a high number of different agencies and positions. This individual plays a critical role within the Business Services Team.
The ideal candidate will be able to review and translate highly complex and technical language for a variety of audiences to understand, be an excellent record keeper, good with details, demonstrated qualities of good time management, accuracy in their documentation details, and exceptional communication skills – oral and written and have knowledge and/or experience in the following areas:
- Working with business owners and hiring managers on workforce training issues
- Navigating government funded employment and training programs
- Coordinating or managing similar programs or projects independently
