Responsibilities: o Initiate and execute the promotion and advertising of all internal and external major church events by creating strategic media planso Upon request and information provided, give ministry specific suggestions to individual ministries for promoting classes, seminars and eventso Gather, receive, review, manage, edit, design and distribute content for print publications including the church newsletter (First Press), e-mail newsletter (Highlights), e-mail This Week, e-mail In the Life, church advertisements and individual projects such as special bulletins, brochures, pamphlets, and other publications as needed to promote and communicate church activities and special programso Oversight of the church website to insure it accurately reflects the mission and ministry of FPCo Obtain accurate information to write all press releases pertaining to major church events, pastoral staff amendments, emergency situations and unplanned, miscellaneous church news for local newspapers, emails, radio and TV o Edit sermon from worship service audio recording & load to website and dropboxo Produce power points for services and programs as neededo Attend committee meetings as a promotions and advertising coordinatoro Coordinate and oversee other special projects as neededo Identify new software, recommend and develop new and creative ways to improve communicationso Create presentation for Informal WorshipOversight/coordination/maintenance of the following:o Maintenance of fpchhi.org, church Web site o Bulletin production, annual reporto Copy equipmento Graphic elements for various projects as assignedo Signage and bulletin boardso Presbytery/Synod/General Assembly communicationso Church archives, including photographs, directories, scrapbookso Provide administrative support when required Qualifications: o A degree in communications or public relations or related field or experience in communications, desktop publishing and ability to learn and perform duties with new software applicationso Excellent writing skills and verbal communicationo Aptitude in graphic design, proofreading and copy editingo Self-motivation with excellent organizational skills, able to work independently and multi task as well as being a positive team playero Experience in use of office equipment including computer, copier, folding, etc. o Commitment to hard work and perseverance in handling the demands of the positiono Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and professionalism in working with others and in appearance and attitudeo Capable of understanding and working with communication software (Web site, PowerPoints, etc.)o Capable of understanding & leveraging social media platforms for advertising & marketing purposes
