Under broad guidance, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for:
a. Performing facility maintenance and repair activities throughout the North Shore and South Shore Complexes in a timely and satisfactory manner
b. Exhibiting alertness and attentiveness to facility maintenance requirements
c. Cooperating and working well with other work centers personnel
d. Following instructions, responding to problems and complaints, and exhibiting dependability

Education - Required

High school diploma or GED with satisfactory completion of formal maintenance training or apprenticeship, post high school technical or military training program

Extensive 4-5 years increasingly responsible facility related maintenance experience required

Must be able to troubleshoot roof leaks , HVAC problems, and plumbing problems

Must be able to read blueprints and interpret and understand contract specifications

Strong skill in dealing with internal customers and contractors in a professional manner is a must

ob-specific Technical Competencies - Required

Broad Functional knowledge of fire alarm systems, HVACs, plumbing systems, and facility maintenance

Ability to develop highly effective working relationships with all HRSD Directors, Chiefs, Managers, and employees


Experience or knowledge using HVAC computer monitoring systems
