This position will provide oversight to investigators who support Public Health Clinics, Community Health Clinics, dental clinics, urgent care and all other outpatient facilities with direct assistance for COVID-19 prevention, case and outbreak investigation, testing, and infection control activities.

- Job Duties
- Create and maintain disease investigation protocols
- Create and maintain other tools and resources (e.g. scripts, frequently asked questions, intake forms).
- Provide consultation to Case Investigators as necessary
- Manage Disease Investigator Strike Team.
- Advise when other resources Mobile Assessment Team (MAT) are needed
- Represent Public Health with internal and external partners.
- Inform investigation strike teams of current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH) guidance and provide support in application of guidance.
- Coordination with Direct Clinical Assistance Branch (Healthcare systems and homeless groups and specialists), Isolation and Quarantine (I/Q), and surveillance on data collection needs.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Clinical and Public Health background (may include, but not limited to: Public Health Nurse (PHN), Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (MD), Public Health Veterinarian.
- Experience in leadership and oversight of teams to be able to operationalize Health Medical Area Command (HMAC) strategies.
- Effectively interpret guidance and adapt Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health (DOH), or Public Health Seattle & King County (PHSKC) guidance to various settings.
- Must display good judgment and comfort in making independent decisions, while understand limitations and elevating as needed in the absence of information
- Effectively manage multiple competing priorities and projects under a rapidly changing environment, with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively in this environment.
- Work well under pressure.
- Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office 365) and other web-enabled tools. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform essential functions of the position.
Who May Apply: This Special Duty Assignment (SDA) / Term Limited Temporary (TLT) position is open to all qualified applicants. To be considered for SDA, you must be a current King County Career Service employee who has successfully passed probation. You must have supervisor approval prior to taking a Special Duty Assignment. The duration of this opportunity is expected to last until December 31, 2020.
Work Schedule: This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not overtime-eligible. The schedule will consists of five shifts - am shifts and pm shifts; during Monday to Sunday 8:00 – 20:00. Working weekends, evening, and some travel may be required.
Work Location: This position will primarily work at Chinook Building 401 5th Ave Seattle, WA 98104.
