Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, temporary CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER 2. Under general supervision the Cardiac Sonographer 2 will perform, analyze, and interpret comprehensive, complex diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures such as transthoracic echo (TEE), dobutamine stress echo (DSE), treadmill echo (TME), and assist physicians with lab-based or transesophageal echo (TEE) procedures on patients referred for evaluation of suspected or known heart disease, post-operative evaluation of surgical therapy, or placement of cardiac prosthetic devices. They will also tailor examination as necessary to provide accurate representation of cardiac anatomy and pathology as determined throughout examination; monitor patient’s vital signs and condition during examination; and initiate or perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if necessary. In addition, the Cardiac Sonographer will train ultrasound students from CAAHEP-accredited ultrasound programs and fellows from the UWMC cardiology fellowship program; and maintain certification and current knowledge in the field.

REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a training program accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
AND
Current certification as Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
AND
One year of experience as Cardiac Sonographer 1
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
