HMC Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a full time 12-month fixed duration Telephone Systems Technician. The individuals in these roles will install, maintain and repair camera security/parking instruments, switching equipment and cabling, including cable installation in new construction, existing infrastructures, and medical facilities.
Basic job functions:
•Installation, termination, pull, repair and replace low voltage cables for data, voice and security cameras
•Install cable supports, equipment racks and trays
•Terminate data jacks and patch panels
•Know industry standards/color codes
•Work as a team or independently
•Excellent communication skills
•Physical work – up/down ladders, overhead, pull, push, lift, bending…
Install new cabling for the security/parking camera systems located throughout the HMC campus.
Review requirements with departmental staff; may submit cost and engineering estimates; determine equipment needs, and procedures for integrating new or extended service with present switching system.
Receive, test and install security camera instruments and switching, and key system common equipment.
May assist with coordinating with the service vendors in implementing equipment and cable installation plans.
Coordinate with the institution's Physical Plant, engineering and construction staff in implementing site alterations to accommodate new cable conduit.
Maintain security camera equipment inventory, cable, and reliability records.
Write work orders for security system repair, parts and supplies.
May direct the work of lower-level staff.
Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in Cat5, Cat6 environments to include installation, maintenance and repair. Two years of full-time applicable technical training may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Valid Washington State driver’s license.
