The Utah Attorney General's Office, Highways & Utilities Division, is seeking an attorney to advise the Utah Transit Authority in real estate transaction work and litigation. Experience in real estate litigation and transit-related work is desired, but not required. Must have a working knowledge of Utah real estate laws, including laws impacting licensing, leasing, easements, title, transactions, and eminent domain. Preferred candidates will have knowledge of laws impacting government entities and demonstrated experience in developing relationships with regulatory and funding agencies, internal staff and the community. The position will be housed at the Utah Transit Authority Headquarters in Salt Lake City. Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience and be an active member of the Utah State Bar in good standing. Applicants must have the ability to analyze complex legal problems, apply legal principles and practices, prepare and present legal materials in a clear and concise manner, and present legal arguments clearly, persuasively and logically. Travel is required as incumbents will need to represent the UTA in legal proceedings throughout the State.
